Love vs Attraction: Key Differences
Attraction and love often arrive together, but they are not the same thing.
Attraction
Attraction is immediate and intense. It focuses on how someone looks, sounds or makes you feel in the moment. It can fade as quickly as it appears.
Love
Love grows with time and knowledge. It includes care for the other person's wellbeing, acceptance of their flaws, and commitment through ordinary days, not just exciting ones.
How to tell
- Attraction asks "How do I feel around them?"; love asks "How are they doing?"
- Attraction idealises; love sees the whole person.
- Attraction wants now; love plans for later.
Most lasting relationships start with attraction and build love over time.
