About this calendar

The Julian calendar, introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BCE, has a leap year every four years. It drifts against the seasons by about three days every 400 years, which is why the Gregorian reform of 1582 skipped days. The Julian calendar is currently 13 days behind and is still used by several Orthodox churches.
